Ideas are more easily critiqued when concretized from the realm of the mind, into plain reality. In short, to condense the formless into form is the only way to be sure about its shape, and consequently, how to chisel & polish.
I am absolutely caught by the conception of treating all acts of creation as a matter of progressive reshaping, akin to working marble. This immediately breaks down to me on the finer levels, as paint and words are ultimately more organic in processing than marble sculpting. Therefore, this analogy I am so enamored with, reveals itself to be a useful but leaky abstraction. Many such cases.
Today, I feel some crystalizing of previous considerations. I have developed taste. I have moved through post-taste thought into the synthesis: nuance of taste vs Taste and the emphatic importance/relevance in different contexts. Now I must go through a period of improving personal performance to align with such taste.
It is a duty of any true intellectual, to themselves and the people who might connect with them (as friends or posthumously inspired kin) to express themselves publicly. Benefits are multiple.
